Rupert River Frozen Over 14.jpg
With a friendly chocolate labrador as an escort, photographer Tristan Brand spent part of the afternoon of January 11th crossing the frozen mouth of the Rupert River off of James Bay. The Cree community of Waskaganish sits on the edge of the river and plays host to a number of snowmobilers that cross the river regularly. Paths are often marked by pine tree markers to indicate safer routes and to guide traversers safely.
